ATHLETE

JJ Jegede's first passion is athletics and specifically the Long Jump. He is one of the world's best long jumpers with a personal best of 8.04 metres. He is also the 2 time England Champion and 2012 British Champion. JJ was born in Forest Gate to Nigerian parents, 1 mile from the Olympic site and has seen first hand the improvements to east London from the Olympics. To win gold at the Olympics in his neighbourhood would be a dream come true. This is why JJ moved 280 miles from London to Newcastle in April 2011 to train with renowned long jump coach Peter Stanley. JJ self funds his 6 days a week training schedule through mentoring & personal training. Despite his competitors receiving sponsorship & lottery funding, JJ is working tirelessly to achieve his dream to be No.1

COACH & MENTOR

When not training to be a champion JJ's passion extends to coaching and mentoring children. He runs The Heroes www.olympic-heroes.com an elite athletics and mentoring organisation. He also works for the Metropolitan Police and Sky Sports as a inspirational coach and mentor.
